Zhu Qichao described his experiences from 1937-1945 in the Sino-Japanese War in this manuscript (titled 烽火迎优忆坎坷) written for the Jiangsu Provincial Political and Cultural History Research Committee Office in 1981. Zhu's recollections largely relate to his teaching and publishing experiences while in Yixing. 朱其超
