History
Born in 1944, Mary Brown Bullock later spent time as a child in Korea where her father, G. Thompson Brown, served as a Presbyterian missionary. She graduated from Agnes Scott College in 1966 and later from Stanford University with a master's (1968) and doctorate in Chinese history (1973). Prior to DKU, Bullock served as the Director of the Asia program at the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars (1988-1995) and lectured at Johns Hopkins University. In 2007 she joined the faculty of Emory University as a visiting professor in China Studies. In 2012 she was hired as DKU's first Executive Vice-Chancellor, a role she held until 2015.
