Biographical history

Born around 1910, Zhu Qichao graduated from Fudan University and a teacher at Kunshan Middle School following the war. Prior to the Sino-Japanese War he was active in underground struggles as part of the Left-Wing Teachers' League. He then spent 1937-1945 in the Zhangqi and Nanshan in Yixing; his experiences there are the subject of this manuscript.

Zhu Qichao described his experiences from 1937-1945 in the Sino-Japanese War in this manuscript (titled 烽火迎优忆坎坷) written for the Jiangsu Provincial Political and Cultural History Research Committee Office in 1981. Zhu's recollections largely relate to his teaching and publishing experiences while in Yixing.
